Casey Turns 1!

Our sweet little puppy turned one last Thursday.

In celebration, I took Casey to Three Dog Bakery in Plano! April, Tux, and Ryder joined us.

We'd never been, but it was so neat! They had the most delicious looking dog treats in the display cases. April got Casey a "pupcake" and I got her a bunch of tasty treats, including a snickerdoodle cookie, mini-donuts, and a s'mores! If you've never been to Three Dog Bakery, I highly recommend it!!

Yard of the Month

After two long years of blood, sweat, and tears (on David's part, not mine...), we won our HOA's Yard of the Month!!!  Our landscaping has gone from this.....taken the day we signed the contract to buy the house in mid-June 2008....

To this....taken soon after we moved into the house in late-June 2008...
To this....after we got the masonry work done in March 2009...
To this....after we planted geraniums in the front bed and tore out the two crepe myrtles that were planted right-up-next-to-the-house (you know, so close that they would someday cause us foundation problems) and replaced them with azaleas.
To THIS........YARD OF THE MONTH JULY 2010!!!!
Of course bragging rights are the most important part of the yard-of-the-month designation, but we also got a $25 gift certificate to Home Depot (to be spent on landscaping supplies, I'm sure).  David's pretty excited. He works really hard in the yard each week and deserves the recognition!!

Dirty Thirty

Today is my brother's 30th birthday!!! Happy Birthday, Albert!!!

He's gone from this dorky little guy...

To this wonderful father of two of the cutest little kiddos...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

Doggie Date

Casey had her first official puppy play date last Thursday with Shelby's lab puppy, Harley, and April's dog, Tux! April also brought over her adorable son, Ryder. The dogs had a blast running around - so much so that they were too speedy to snap a pic! David grilled some chicken for tacos and while the girls were eating, Ryder and David watched the Rangers game together.
Poor Tux was worn out by the two puppies and he spent a lot of time on the couch trying to get away from the two hyperactive dogs!
Ryder and Casey

Miss Harley

We all had a great time, but I think next time we'll meet at a dog park. Three dogs are a handful and make a MESS!!!

Brandon & Beth

Brandon, a co-worker of ours, got married to his high school sweetheart, Beth, this past weekend in Austin! We had so much fun!! The wedding was at Nature's Point in Lago Vista. The venue was on this cliff overlooking Lake Travis. It was so pretty! It was H-O-T, but at least the wind was blowing, so it wasn't too bad!

David & Todd
Jacob & Debbie

They had a photo booth at the reception, and Jacob and his fiance took full advantage...
The wedding favors were these koozies that said the typical "Brandon and Beth's Wedding" etc., etc., but on the backs of the koozies, you could write who the drink belonged to, so the boys had some fun with the Sharpie!
Brandon and Beth looked so happy that night - maybe Brandon was in a little bit of a daze, but what groom isn't! Such a great couple!!
This was David and I's first wedding to attend as a married couple. :)
David and Todd made it their mission for the night to get Brandon's vest. Poor guy finally just gave up at the end of the night.
And....
Success!!

Of course, a picture with the vest and the bride was in order.
And another with the groom...
And a final one with the groom plus his mom! (please excuse the poor picture quality, my camera was on the wrong setting - probably a result of one too many Corona's...my bad)
We had such a great time at the wedding and are so flattered to be included in their special day!! Wishing nothing but the BEST for the happy couple!!!!

A Sweet Suite

A few weeks ago, David got four free tickets to the Bellator fight at the Nokia Verizon Theater in Grand Prairie from a friend of his. These weren't just regular tickets for common folks - these were tickets to Pepsi's suite! I wasn't going to go, but after David texted me a picture of the suite, I just had to go and check it out for myself! And what a sweet suite it was!! Who knew there were suites like this at the Verizon Theater!?

I'm not so much into the MMA fighting stuff - we get the UFC fights sometimes at our house and the boys like to watch the fight while the girls socialize. Anyhow, our suite had a pretty good view of the ring (octagon?).

David invited his friends Todd and Matt, and I think they had a blast!

Here's a pic of Matt gettin' down to some song they played between fights... probably Lady Gaga or something lame like that...just kidding!
